The Mauritshuis is home to the best Dutch paintings from the Golden Age. The compact, yet world-renowned collection, is situated in the heart of The Hague.
We want to share our knowledge and images of the collection and let as many people as possible enjoy the paintings we have on view. We’re always looking for new ways to show our 350-400 years old collection and make it accessible for everybody. The Second Canvas Mauritshuis app is one of our newest ways to show our artwork and have people interact with it. This app gives people the opportunity to explore part of our collection in a very intuitive way. They can find details that can’t be seen with the naked eye and read stories that haven’t been told before.
We will tell you all about our app (and give you the opportunity to download it for free) and of course there’s time to ask us questions about the app and other subjects concerning our museum, collection or products.

We want to share our knowledge and images of the collection and let as many people as possible enjoy the paintings we have on view. We’re always looking for new ways to show our 350-400 years old collection and make it accessible for everybody. In addition to our main up to date website, we have several parallax sites on which we show the stories behind the paintings and a multimedia tour (which can also be downloaded as an app) with extensive information about the collection. We have very active social media accounts with a growing and engaged community following our posts. We show user generated content (like #mygirlwithapearl on Instagram) and work together with different innovative companies on digital projects like stop motion video’s (Madurodam) and animated video’s (“The Goldfinch is flying home”). The Second Canvas Mauritshuis app is one of our newest ways to show our artwork and have people interact with it. This app gives people the opportunity to explore part of our collection in a very intuitive way.
